Center for Vaccine Development

Today we visited The Center for Vaccine Development with Sutee Yoksan, M.D., Ph.D
We learned about Dengue 1-4 virus genotyping and its presence in Thailand for the past 70 years. Dengue virus (DENV) is a mosquito-borne member of the Flavivirus genus. Interestingly enough due to finical restrictions it was only partial approved in Thailand and is still awaiting approval in US collaboration.  We were able to tour the facility and learn more about techniques used to isolate the virus. Overall it was an enriching experience with Sutee Yoksan , M.D., Ph.D who’s passion was infectious.
